9 Days Himachal Pradesh Trip Overview

This 9-day Chandigarh to Leh overland journey begins in the plains and steadily ascends through Himachal Pradesh into the higher Himalayas. The route follows the Beas Valley to Manali, crosses the Atal Tunnel into Lahaul, and halts at Jispa to gradually adapt before entering Ladakh.

From Jispa, the drive continues along the Manali–Leh highway across multiple high passes and plateau landscapes before reaching Leh. A full day in Leh explores key cultural and Indus Valley landmarks while allowing time for acclimatization.

The journey then moves north across Khardung La into Nubra Valley, extending further to Turtuk and border-region villages before returning to Hunder. From Nubra, the route shifts east along the Shyok corridor to Pangong Lake, followed by a return to Leh via Chang La Pass. The itinerary forms a complete trans-Himalayan circuit linking Himachal valleys, Ladakh monasteries, high-altitude deserts, and lake regions before departure from Leh.
