This 9-day winter journey begins in Leh Ladakh, with the arrival schedule kept relaxed for acclimatization before Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace and Leh Market. Leh local sightseeing continues with Hall of Fame Museum, Spituk Monastery, Pathar Sahib Gurdwara, Magnetic Hill and Sangam Point, along with the planned Hall of Fame Light & Sound Show. Sightseeing and show operations remain subject to weather, local schedules, road conditions and accessibility.
The route then crosses Khardung La and Khalsar into Nubra Valley, visiting Diskit Monastery before continuing to Hunder and its cold desert landscape. The planned Bactrian Camel Safari depends on weather and local operations, while travel across Khardung La remains subject to road conditions, permits and local accessibility.
The winter circuit extends from Hunder through Khalsar, Sumur, Panamik and Sasoma towards areas near Siachen Base Camp. Samstanling Monastery and Panamik are included en route before returning to Hunder. Travel on this sector may be affected by snowfall, icy roads, extreme cold and local accessibility, so the route and sightseeing sequence can change according to prevailing conditions.
The journey then follows Agham Road and Shyok Road through Shyok Village, Durbuk and Tangste towards Pangong Tso. The overnight stay near Pangong brings the itinerary into Ladakh’s high-altitude winter lake landscape, while snowfall and frozen lake conditions remain weather-dependent and are not guaranteed. Timing and coverage along this route may vary according to snowfall and road conditions.
From Pangong, the route continues through Spangmik, Maan, Merak, Chushul, Tsaga La and Loma before reaching Hanle. The Hanle stay includes the monastery and observatory, followed by a separate winter excursion through Nurbula Pass and Chisumle Bridge towards Umling La. Access to this high-altitude sector depends on snowfall and road conditions, and timing or coverage may vary.
The final road journey returns from Hanle through Loma Bend, Nyoma, Mahe Bridge and Puga Valley before continuing to Hemis Monastery, Shey Monastery, Thiksey Monastery, Rancho School and Sindhu Ghat on the way to Leh. These visits remain dependent on snowfall and road conditions. After the final overnight stay in Leh, the tour concludes with an airport transfer, while snowfall, fog, extreme cold, weather conditions or flight disruptions may affect transfers and flight schedules.
Travel Note: Sightseeing on the arrival day should remain relaxed to support proper acclimatization. Avoid strenuous activities and stay well hydrated while adjusting to Leh’s high altitude.
Travel Note: Sightseeing and the Light & Sound Show are subject to weather, local operating schedules, road conditions, and accessibility. The sequence may be adjusted accordingly.
Travel Note: Travel across Khardung La is subject to weather, road conditions, permit requirements, and local accessibility. Camel safari operations may also depend on weather and local conditions.
