The expedition commences with a northern ascent from Dehradun into the colonial ridges of Mussoorie before penetrating the deep Yamuna valley. Movement tracks the primary river corridors, crossing from the Yamuna to the Bhagirathi basin to reach the sacred settlement of Uttarkashi and the glacial source at Gangotri.
