This 6-day Zanskar journey begins from Manali with a drive through Solang Valley and Atal Tunnel into Lahaul, covering Sissu and Keylong before reaching Jispa for an overnight stay. The route gradually gains altitude while following the Bhaga River, allowing a smooth transition into high-altitude terrain. This initial phase focuses on acclimatization and scenic progression through Himalayan valleys before entering the remote Zanskar region.
The journey continues from Jispa across Shinkula Pass into Zanskar Valley, descending toward Purne through high-altitude landscapes and isolated settlements. A key excursion includes the trek to Phuktal Monastery followed by a drive toward Padum, covering monasteries such as Bardan and Munay en route. The itinerary then focuses on local exploration around Padum, visiting major monasteries, rock carvings, and heritage sites spread across the valley.
The return route retraces the same high-altitude corridor from Padum via Purne and Shinkula Pass back toward Jispa, covering river confluences and remote valley viewpoints. From Jispa, the journey continues back to Manali through Atal Tunnel and Solang Valley, marking a transition from cold desert terrain to greener Himalayan landscapes. The circuit covers key regions of Lahaul and Zanskar with a structured route across remote mountain terrain.
