The journey begins from Guwahati with a drive to Bhalukpong, marking the transition from Assam’s plains into the foothills of Arunachal Pradesh. Surrounded by forests and the Kameng River, Bhalukpong provides a calm starting point. The route then continues to Dirang with stops at Lumum Waterfall and Bomdila Tri Junction. Dirang serves as an acclimatization base with visits to Dirang Village, TDL Buddhist Monastery, Kalachakra Gompa, and the nearby hot spring, offering insight into the region’s cultural and natural setting.
An excursion to Sangti Valley adds a distinct highland experience with open meadows, flowing river streams, and expansive Himalayan views. The journey then proceeds toward Tawang via Sela Pass, known for snow-covered terrain and alpine lakes. En route stops include Jaswant Garh War Memorial and Jung Falls. In Tawang, key sites include Ugyenling Monastery, the Giant Buddha Statue, Tawang Monastery, and the Gaden Namgyal Lhatse Museum. A dedicated excursion covers Bum La Pass and Madhuri Lake, both located in high-altitude border regions.
The return journey begins from Tawang toward Bomdila, passing again through mountain routes with stops at Jaswant Garh and Nuranang Falls. Bomdila Monastery provides a final cultural experience with hilltop views. The route then descends through forested valleys and transitions into the foothills of Assam. The final drive from Bomdila to Guwahati completes a full circuit covering valleys, monasteries, high-altitude passes, and diverse Himalayan landscapes across Arunachal Pradesh.
