Ayodhya Ram Mandir Darshan Timings and Daily Schedule

The latest published schedule located during research lists Ram Mandir darshan slots between 7 am and 9 pm, with no listed slot between 12 noon and 1 pm. Special aartis take place outside these ordinary darshan periods and require separate entry arrangements.

Published general darshan slots

  • 7 am to 9 am.
  • 9 am to 11 am.
  • 11 am to 12 noon.
  • 1 pm to 3 pm.
  • 3 pm to 5 pm.
  • 5 pm to 7 pm.
  • 7 pm to 9 pm.

Aarti schedule

  • Mangala aarti: 4 am.
  • Shringar aarti: 6 am.
  • Shayan aarti: 10 pm.

These timings are reported as reflecting the Trust’s revised booking schedule. Since temple arrangements can change, check the official website before departure and follow the time and reporting instructions printed on your pass.

Do not assume that the 10 pm shayan aarti extends ordinary walk-in darshan until that time. Similarly, an early-morning aarti pass is different from admission during the first general darshan slot.

Darshan Entry, Booking Options and Aarti Passes

Ordinary Ram Mandir darshan is free. Walk-in general darshan remains available, while the Trust’s booking portal provides free pass options subject to availability. Aarti attendance requires the appropriate separate pass.

Walk-in and booked darshan

For walk-in darshan, follow the designated general-entry route and current queue instructions. A booked time slot can help organise your arrival, but it does not remove security checks or guarantee an immediate view of Ram Lalla.

Start from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra website and follow its booking link to the official booking portal. Check which darshan categories and dates are currently offered rather than relying on an old screenshot or a third-party booking calendar.

Booking an aarti pass

Select the relevant aarti, enter the visitor details requested by the portal and read the reporting instructions carefully. Availability is limited, so confirm your pass before planning transport around an early-morning or late-night ceremony.

  • Carry the original identification specified in your booking instructions.
  • Keep a printed pass if instructed; do not depend entirely on a phone that must later be deposited.
  • Check the reporting time, which may be earlier than the ceremony itself.
  • Keep each visitor’s details consistent with their identification.

Avoid paid VIP-pass claims

The Trust states that it charges no fee for darshan or aarti passes. Payment for a hotel, vehicle or tour service is separate from temple admission. Verify any claim of paid priority entry directly with the Trust before making a payment.

Security Checks, Prohibited Items and Locker Facilities

Arrive with minimal belongings and allow time for screening before joining the inner darshan route. Mobile phones, cameras and other electronic items should be left at your accommodation or deposited in the designated storage facilities.

What to leave behind

Published visitor guidance restricts phones, electronic devices and bags within the secured temple visit. The Trust has also asked devotees not to bring flowers, garlands, outside prasad and similar offerings.

  • Leave large bags, shopping and unnecessary valuables at your hotel.
  • Remove smartwatches and other electronic accessories before setting out.
  • Avoid carrying sharp objects, tobacco products and other restricted items.
  • Ask security staff about essential medicines or medical devices before depositing belongings.

Follow the current security notice for the full list. Restrictions on particular accessories and containers can change, so a previous visitor’s experience should not be treated as permission.

Lockers, cloakrooms and footwear

Locker and cloakroom arrangements are reported at the Pilgrim Facilitation Centre, with footwear-deposit facilities also available. Follow the signs to the authorised counters and keep your token or receipt secure.

Locate the collection point before moving on, particularly if the exit route differs from the entrance. Avoid handing valuables to an unidentified person offering to “keep them safely”.

Plan for a phone-free visit

Agree on a meeting point with your group and write down your hotel address and driver’s number. Keep the identification and pass required for verification accessible rather than accidentally locking them away.

Photography should be limited to places where it is explicitly permitted outside the secured visit. Do not attempt to conceal a phone or camera to photograph the sanctum.

How to Reach Ram Mandir from Ayodhyaโ€™s Airport and Railway Stations

Ayodhya is served by Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham, and two important railway stations: Ayodhya Dham Junction and Ayodhya Cantt. Your final transfer should be planned around the permitted temple-area drop-off point.

From Ayodhya airport

The district administration places the airport approximately 10 km from Ayodhya Dham; the actual journey to your hotel or temple approach depends on the route. Arrange a taxi at an authorised counter or through your accommodation and confirm the total fare before departure.

Ask whether the vehicle can reach your hotel directly and where temple-bound passengers are currently being dropped. On busy dates, traffic controls may require a transfer or a longer walk.

From Ayodhya Dham Junction

Ayodhya Dham Junction is the more convenient station for the central pilgrimage area. Auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws can cover the accessible road section, followed by a walk where vehicles are restricted.

Check the full station name on your ticket. A booking to Ayodhya Cantt requires a different local transfer and should not be treated as arrival at Ayodhya Dham Junction.

From Ayodhya Cantt

Ayodhya Cantt serves another part of the city and is useful when your preferred train stops there. Arrange an auto-rickshaw or taxi to your accommodation or the permitted temple approach, allowing more transfer time than from Ayodhya Dham.

Return journeys and pickup points

Agree on a recognisable pickup landmark before depositing your phone. Leave a generous buffer before a train or flight, including time to collect belongings, walk out and reach the vehicle.

For aarti attendance before dawn or late at night, arrange transport in advance rather than assuming that your usual daytime options will be immediately available.

Best Time to Visit: Weather, Festivals and Crowd Levels

October to March is generally the most comfortable period for an Ayodhya temple visit, especially if you plan to walk between several attractions. Choose an ordinary weekday outside major celebrations if easier movement is your priority.

Winter and the cooler months

Cooler weather makes queues and outdoor sightseeing less tiring. Carry a warm layer for early-morning aartis and winter evenings, and allow flexibility for fog-related travel delays.

Summer and monsoon

Summer afternoons can be demanding for visitors waiting outdoors or walking from parking areas. Prefer a suitable morning or evening darshan period, hydrate beforehand and include a proper rest break.

During the monsoon, carry practical rain protection for the approach journey, subject to security restrictions at entry. Wet surfaces and sudden showers can slow movement between temples and the riverfront.

Festivals and busy travel dates

Ram Navami, Deepotsav around Diwali, major religious occasions, weekends and holiday periods can bring substantial crowds. Festival visits require earlier accommodation bookings and more flexibility over local transport and sightseeing.

The Pratishtha Dwadashi observance follows the Hindu calendar, so check the announced programme rather than assuming that every annual commemoration falls on the same Gregorian date.

No daily time slot guarantees a short queue. For older travellers, families with small children and visitors who find prolonged standing difficult, avoiding a peak date is often more useful than arriving extremely early on that date.

Planning Your Darshan: Queues, Walking Distance and Accessibility

Reserve a flexible half-day for Ram Mandir darshan, including transfers, storage, security, the queue and your return. This is a planning allowance rather than an expected queue duration; the visit may be shorter on a quieter day or considerably longer during festivals.

Understand the walking involved

Your total walk includes more than the distance inside the temple complex. It may begin at a parking area or regulated drop-off point and continue through security and designated pedestrian routes.

There is no single reliable walking-distance figure for every visitor because entry arrangements, parking and diversions vary. Ask where the current accessible drop-off and assistance points are before bringing someone who cannot walk far.

Wheelchairs and assisted movement

Wheelchair arrangements have been announced for older visitors and people with disabilities within the temple premises. Ask at the Pilgrim Facilitation Centre or official help desk about availability, the accessible route and any assistance required.

Published Trust guidance distinguishes the wheelchair itself from the attendant service: the chair has no rental fee, while assistance charges may apply. Confirm the current arrangement before starting, and do not assume that the service covers transport around Ayodhya or visits to other temples.

Practical preparation

  • Wear comfortable clothing and footwear that is easy to deposit and collect.
  • Use a toilet before entering a long queue.
  • Discuss essential medicines and medical equipment with security staff.
  • Plan a rest stop after darshan rather than immediately joining another crowded queue.
  • Keep children close and establish a meeting point before phones are deposited.

Visitors with significant mobility needs should confirm arrangements before travelling. Accessible infrastructure does not necessarily mean that every approach, queue or adjoining attraction will be equally easy to navigate.

Where to Stay and Eat Near Ram Mandir

Choose accommodation by its actual approach route and vehicle access, rather than only the distance advertised from Ram Mandir. A centrally located room can simplify walking, but luggage transfers and festival restrictions may make access less convenient.

Staying near the central temple area

Accommodation around the Ram Path and central pilgrimage area suits visitors who want to return to their room between darshan and sightseeing. Before booking, ask for the walking route to the permitted temple entrance and whether a taxi can reach the property.

Check lift availability, ground-floor options, bathroom arrangements and early breakfast if travelling with older relatives. A room described as “near the temple” may still involve stairs or a walk through busy lanes.

Staying farther from the busiest streets

A hotel with easier road access can be useful for families, travellers with substantial luggage and those continuing by car. Balance that convenience against the need for a transfer each time you visit the temple area.

  • Verify the property through its own contact details before paying.
  • Confirm cancellation terms and check-in arrangements in writing.
  • Ask about transport for very early or late aarti attendance.
  • Book earlier for Ram Navami, Deepotsav and major holiday periods.

Food and meal planning

Vegetarian meals, snacks and sweets are widely available in the pilgrimage area. A freshly prepared thali or simple dal, roti and rice can be a practical choice between temple visits.

Choose clean, busy establishments and ask about onion, garlic or fasting ingredients if you follow specific dietary practices. Eat and hydrate before a long queue, while observing the restrictions on bringing food and drink into the secured temple visit.

Do not depend entirely on an unverified announcement of free meals. Keep a straightforward paid meal option available, especially when travelling with children or someone who needs regular food.

Nearby Places to Visit: Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan and Ram Ki Paidi

Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan and Ram Ki Paidi add different experiences to a Ram Mandir visit: Hanuman worship, shrines dedicated to Sita and Ram, and time beside the Sarayu riverfront. Allow breaks and check individual temple opening periods before fixing your route.

Hanuman Garhi

Hanuman Garhi is an important Ayodhya pilgrimage stop, associated with the belief that Hanuman guards the city. The shrine depicts the young Hanuman with Maa Anjani.

Many devotees traditionally visit Hanuman Garhi before Ram Janmabhoomi. If you have a timed Ram Mandir pass, however, leave enough room for Hanuman Garhi’s queue and staircase rather than risking a late arrival.

The climb deserves particular attention for visitors with knee pain or limited mobility. It should not be assumed that wheelchair arrangements at Ram Mandir extend to this separate temple.

Kanak Bhawan

Kanak Bhawan lies northeast of Ram Janmabhoomi in the Ramkot area. Its devotional focus on Sita and Ram makes it a meaningful companion visit after Ram Lalla darshan.

Allow time to sit in the courtyard when permitted, rather than treating it solely as a quick stop. Check its own darshan hours, because a convenient gap in your Ram Mandir programme may coincide with another shrine’s closure.

Ram Ki Paidi

Ram Ki Paidi is a series of ghats along the Sarayu riverfront. It works well as a late-afternoon or evening outing after a rest, when you can walk along the ghats and observe the devotional activity.

Keep children close to the water and follow barriers and local instructions. During Deepotsav or other large events, ordinary access and riverfront movement may be regulated.

A manageable sightseeing sequence

For an ordinary visit, consider Hanuman Garhi first if your darshan slot allows, followed by Ram Mandir, lunch and rest, Kanak Bhawan during a confirmed opening period, and Ram Ki Paidi towards evening. Reverse or split the temple visits across two days if queues or mobility needs make the programme tiring.

If Ayodhya forms part of a longer pilgrimage, explore Chal Banjare’s Uttar Pradesh travel options and leave sufficient time for transfers to destinations such as Varanasi and Prayagraj.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ayodhya Ram Mandir Travel Guide โ€“ Darshan, Entry and Travel Tips

Check the Trust's current website and the reporting instructions issued with your pass. General darshan slots and aartis have different arrangements, so an early or late ceremony does not extend ordinary walk-in access. Avoid basing transport on an old screenshot or assuming every published opening period applies to your booking category.
The article states that ordinary darshan and the Trust's passes are free, while hotels, vehicles and tour services are separate expenses. Verify any paid-priority claim directly before payment. A confirmed slot helps organise arrival but does not remove screening or guarantee immediate access, and aarti requires its own appropriate arrangement.
Carry minimal belongings and confirm current restrictions on electronics, bags and outside offerings before leaving your accommodation. Keep required identification and any printed pass accessible, and discuss essential items with staff. Leave unnecessary valuables behind rather than assuming another visitor's previous experience establishes permission for everything you want to bring.
Agree on a group meeting point and write down the hotel address and driver contact before depositing devices. Use designated storage, keep the token secure and locate the collection point. Do not accidentally deposit the documents needed for verification or assume the exit returns you directly to the same counter and vehicle.
The final transfer is to a permitted approach, which may still involve walking or another local connection. Confirm current drop-offs with your hotel or driver and check the exact arrival station. Ayodhya Dham and Cantt are separate, so a general destination name does not establish equivalent transfer time or road access.
Keep a flexible half-day for transfer, storage, screening, queues and return rather than predicting the visit from the brief view near the shrine. Busy dates can require longer. Protect a rest break afterwards and leave substantial time before an onward connection, including belongings collection and the walk back to pickup.
Ask the official help desk about availability, suitable routes and any attendant arrangements before travelling. The article distinguishes equipment from assistance services, so confirm current charges and coverage separately. Support within the premises should not be assumed to include transport around Ayodhya or access to every neighbouring temple and riverfront section.
Ordinary weekdays outside major celebrations generally provide more planning flexibility than peak pilgrimage dates. Cooler weather helps with walking, but winter fog can affect transfers and festivals change queues and approaches. No daily slot guarantees a short wait, so choose around stamina rather than relying on an extremely early arrival alone.
Check the actual route to your permitted temple approach, vehicle access, lifts, bathroom arrangements and meal availability. A central property can reduce repeated journeys but involve luggage walking or festival restrictions. A road-accessible hotel farther out may suit some families better, provided the extra local transfers are included in the plan.
Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan and Ram Ki Paidi provide different additions, but each needs its own opening and access check. Assess Hanuman Garhi's stairs separately and include lunch and rest before another substantial outing. Split the programme across days when queues or mobility needs make the ordinary sequence too demanding.
